Who knew there was such a strong connection between the lunar cycles and wine making?

At this fascinating nature tour in Napa Valley, the entire cycle is played out in the Theater of Nature at Raymond Winery. These 2-acres are the largest educational exhibit on biodynamic gardening in all of Napa Valley.

A reticulated giraffe bends deeply, like a ballerina, and takes a drink from a creek. Click. A warthog mows down a stand of grass and pretends to ignore us. Click. A gazelle (or is it an impala?) hurtles across the horizon. Click, click, click. We are on a photo safari on the Sonoma Serengeti, otherwise known as Safari West, and I’m in burst-mode as the light begins to fade. One day I hope to get Kenya but for now this is the perfect wildlife tour.

While we’re in Sonoma, we also plan to visit Bouverie Preserve for a nature tour. There are more than 130 species of birds and 350 species of flowering plants. I brought my macro lens for close-ups, but left he tri-pod at home…darn!
